MoM runs on  WIN95 and WIN98 computers
with a Pentium processor,
20mb of free hard disk space,
and MORE than 256 color video.

*MoM requires the latest technologies to take time-lapse snapshots of your computer screen and play them back for you in a movie

A free trial version of MoM is available.

Look for hints from MoM while you move the mouse-arrow over items on MoM's screen. Press the other mouse button for extended help on the item.

  1. MoM's technical support is all handled by email. Please browse Frequently Asked Questions, or email MoM with any questions.

  2. MoM comes with options set for a typical installation and takes the time to prepare your system for the screen-rewind movies the first time it is run.

  3. MoM needs to be run ONLY when you want to play the latest screen-rewind movie, when you want to review the log entries, or when you want to customize your options.

  4. MoM's small PEEKING programs are set to automatically start and run quietly whenever your computer re-starts.

  5. Please browse the "Options" menu at the top of MoM's screen, then you can decide how you'd like to customize MoM.

  6. You may turn MoM's automatic peeking OFF by setting MoM's "Start PEEKING whenever..." option to OFF.

  7. You may hinder and frustrate surfing to sites that match your checked-off word and site lists by setting MoM's "Frustrate Browsing..." option to YES.

  8. MoM will save more (older) screen-rewind history if you increase MoM's "Number of PEEKS to save..." option.

  9. MoM will regularly save more Window peeks to the screen-rewind movie if you decrease MoM's "Number of minutes between peeks" option.

  10. When MoM's screen-rewind movie is played, MoM will PAUSE the movie for a moment on any frame that matched one of your key-words or website names. Pressing the PLAY or REWIND button (while already playing) changes the play-back speed.

  11. The "Been Naughty?" button shows any log entries that were made because they matched your key-words or website names.

  12. The "Been Where?" button shows any log entries that were made because MoM noted a program, or matched your selected "Check off" options.

  13. The "BACK" and "NEXT" arrow buttons (at the top of MoM's screen) work to flip the log book pages, and also to browse enlarged screen-replay frames or thumbnails.

  14. The "BIGGER PEEK" button enlarges a thumbnail picture, or enlarges a frame of MoM's screen-rewind movie. You may then change the brightness and the contrast of the enlarged image, print with the "PRINT" button or edit and save it with the "SAVE PEEK" button.

  15. The screen-rewind movies and log books are prepared each time you run the main MoM program that plays the movies. MoM takes the time to organize and sift through the information for you.

  16. To get the most from MoM: Please read the help that pops-up as you move the mouse-pointer over a button or place on the MoM screen.

  17. MoM gives your computer a work-out and is designed for 233mhz Pentium II processing with 32 mega-bytes of ram and 20 megabytes of free hard disk space. MoM prefers more than 256 color video. MoM will run on slower systems, but with increased delays in gathering and presenting your computer history.

  18. Try clicking the 'right' (other) mouse button for additional information.

  19. Browse MoM's "options" menu, that's where you may customize MoM's many features with simple check-mark selections.

  20. When adding to your own key/naughty word list, consider putting your phone number, city name, PART of any credit card numbers, and computer user names as separate entries. Then, MoM can make a "been naughty?" LOG entry for you when private information is typed and submitted to Windows chat areas or other programs .

Q: What is the "Screen Rewind?"

A: Screen Rewind is MoM's premier feature for personal computers. Now you don't have to read though a computer printout log to see what's been running on your computer, although MoM has that feature too. MoM take time-lapse snapshots of your computer screen and plays them back in a movie, letting you quickly interpret what your computer has been used for. MoM also lets you view all those screen shots at one time, as little thumb-nail size pictures. You can save or print them too!

Q: During MoM's setup, a "file access violation MS...dll " message was displayed. What does this mean?

A: MoM's setup can update your system to the latest Microsoft(c) utility program versions. Your computer system was busy using this utility program during MoM's setup. You may "ignore" the error and continue with the setup, since MoM can use older versions of those utilities too. MoM includes those utilities just in case you don't have them already.

Q: When I run MoM, my computer screen is blinking. What does this mean?

A: MoM needs more than 256 colors and puts your system's video to the test. If your screen is blinking in the MoM program, you may need to enhance the "display" options of your video card. Click the "display" icon in the win95 setup/control panel (or right click on an empty part of the win95 desktop) and then set your video to use more colors or features of your video card.
